Today, December 30, is the last Mission Leadership Council (Concilio) for 2014. We are grateful for their service and sacrifice to move the Lord's work forward.

Ten WONDERFUL missionaries returned home this morning in our Mini Transfer. These hermanas were a part of our largest intake group of missionaries in September of 2013. Today half of them return home to begin school next week. These are true El Faro missionaries and we are grateful for their devoted service.

We were blessed with TWO special events in December: a special Concilio with Elder Kearon and his family as well as a Christmas Fireside with David Archuleta. Both occasions were inspiring and uplifting.

Lleida Zone was the final conference of December. We met together in Zaragoza on the 23rd of December. We LOVE Zone Conferences, but especially love our Christmas Devotional during this month.

Valencia Zone enjoyed the December Zone Conference on Monday the 22nd. Of course, we were blessed to have Vicente's famous paella for lunch!

Barcelona and Badalona Zones had their conference today, December 18, 2014. The testimony meeting was powerful and our practicas were terrific!

Hospitalet Zone Conference was December 16, 2014. All missionaries are getting flu shots during conferences this year. This added some excitement to this conference! We love and appreciate the members of the Hospitalet Stake who prepared a beautiful and bountiful lunch.

Baleares Zone Conference was held on Monday, December 15, 2014. The Ibiza elders were unable to join us due to illness. They will come to a later conference.

December Zone Conferences began with the Bilbao and Vitoria Zones on December 12, 2014. It was a powerful day feasting on His words.

Welcome to 13 new missionaries! They are strong and well prepared to serve.

It's unbelievable to think that these beloved missionaries have completed their missions! It seems like they arrived to El Faro yesterday. We love you. God bless you.

Here are some great moments from some of our Specialized Training Meetings in November 2014.

Lleida Enfoque de zona was held in Zaragoza on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014. Pres. and Hermana Pace took the Ave high speed train up and back. It was a powerful meeting! The spirit was strong. What fantastic missionaries!!!

These faithful El Faro missionaries have completed their service to the Lord. We bid a tearful farewell to these powerhouse missionaries.

Fourteen Nuevos arrived today: 2 from the USA and 12 from the Madrid MTC!

Health and Safety

Dear Parents and Families,

We are monitoring very carefully the news of the spread of Ebola here in Spain. So far, only a nurse who attended an infected priest has been diagnosed. This nurse lives in a suburb of Madrid. Spain -- and all of the European Union -- are joining the effort to make sure this disease does not spread. We will post developments on this blog as well as send out emails to families if there are changes. 

In the meantime, let us join our faith and prayers that the medical community will be able to contain this disease. Let us pray that His work will not be impeded here in Spain. We testify that the Lord is directing His church and is watching over each and every one of us -- especially His beloved missionaries!

Mission Leadership Council was held on September 29, 2014. During the last transfer the mission consolidated from 9 zones to 8 zones.

Just can't resist sharing a few more of our magical moments from transfers this week!

Eight of our finest missionaries headed home to other parts of Spain, the USA and Australia. We will miss them dearly but are grateful for their love and dedication!

It's a GRAND day for El Faro! Welcome to 18 outstanding new missionaries. Fourteen arrived by train from the MTC in Madrid and 4 flew in from the United States.

Vitoria hosted the conference today for the Vitoria and Bilbao Zones. It is always a joy to be with these wonderful, faithful and obedient missionaries.

September 8 was the zone conference for the Sabadell and Lleida Zones. We had an outstanding quartet who sang, "The Spirit of God." Lunch, of course, was pizza! Again!
